Thimm Verpackung: Series production starts at the new Holledau plant

Precision landing: Thimm Verpackung's new Holledau plant in Bavaria has started production, thus meeting the planned schedule exactly. The official opening is planned for May.

In September 2015, Thimm Verpackung held a ground-breaking ceremony in Wolnzach for one of its most modern corrugated board plants Europe is celebrated. The first construction phase covering 26,000 square metres on the 90,000 square metre site has been completed. After a trial run, series production has now been running since February. The production capacity is 120 million square metres and a total of 60 million euros has been invested in the plant to date.

Tankred Pörner, Managing Director of Thimm Verpackung Süd explains: „Construction and commissioning of the plant were right on schedule. We are delighted to now be able to supply our customers from one of the most modern corrugated cardboard plants in Europe and offer them a completely new, comprehensive range of services.“

At its Wolnzach site, the company produces corrugated cardboard sales and transport packaging for food and non-food customers in southern Germany and neighbouring export markets. With the latest generation of production technologies, efficient and highly automated processes and a flexible, customer-oriented organisation, the company is setting new standards in the manufacture and sale of corrugated board packaging. The Wolnzach site is in an ideal geographical location in the heart of Bavaria and ideally complements Thimm Verpackung's existing production network.

150 employees work at the Holledau plant. At this site, Thimm will Training industrial clerks and packaging technologists.
