The European Commission has authorised the acquisition of Sealed Air Corporation by funds managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R).
The review in accordance with the EU Merger Regulation did not give rise to any competition law concerns. In focus of the transaction The market for packaging solutions for food and other goods is particularly important.
Sealed Air is an international provider of packaging solutions, particularly in the food packaging sector. CD&R is a US investment company whose funds will take sole control of the company in the future. Simplified test procedure applied
The Transaction was examined in simplified merger control proceedings. This procedure is used when mergers are not expected to have any serious competitive impact on the internal market following an initial assessment.
