Mech-i-tronic has integrated Rotzinger Pharmapack into the group of companies. With the acquisition, the automation specialist is specifically strengthening its expertise in pharmaceutical packaging and opening up further growth potential in a strategic market.

The demand for sophisticated automation solutions in pharmaceutical packaging is growing continuously. Against this backdrop, Mech-i-tronic has acquired Rotzinger Pharmapack and integrated it into the group. The aim of the transaction is to expand the market position in the pharmaceutical sector and broaden the existing technology portfolio.

Rotzinger Pharmapack as a specialised centre of excellence

Rotzinger Pharmapack, based in Waiblingen near Stuttgart, achieved a turnover of around 26 million euros in 2025 and employs approximately 110 people. The company develops automation and packaging solutions from individual machines to complete system lines. Focus areas include filling and capping technology, as well as cartoning and serialisation solutions for the traceability of pharmaceutical products.

Furthermore, Rotzinger Pharmapack offers solutions for the digitalisation of production and packaging processes. With the integration, the Waiblingen site will be retained and, according to the company, is designed for further growth.

Synergies within the group

With the acquisition, Rotzinger Pharmapack will become part of a network of a total of 14 specialised companies within the Mech-i-tronic Group. These focus on automation solutions for various industrial applications. In 2025, the group achieved a total turnover of over 200 million euros with an EBITDA of approximately 30 million euros.

According to the company, the integration of Rotzinger Pharmapack is expected to enable additional synergies, particularly through the combination of engineering expertise and international market coverage.

Through integration, Mech-i-tronic is expanding its expertise, particularly in the area of pharmaceutical secondary packaging. The company is thus responding to increasing demands for traceability, process reliability, and efficiency in production.

Rotzinger Pharmapack boasts a long company history dating back to 1861. Through various stages, including Bosch Packaging Technology and Syntegon, technical expertise has been continuously advanced. Since 2021, the company has been part of the Rotzinger Group and has been managed as an independent centre of competence.
