Automation at the end of the production line is a crucial factor for efficiency. With the new Box Filling Units from Illig, customers are set to benefit from seamless integration.

In the modern packaging industry, the efficiency of end-of-line processes is crucial for success. Illig has developed solutions with its new Box Filling Units (BFU 300 and BFU 500) that automate the packaging process after thermoforming, without compromising the performance of the systems. These new box packers are fully integrated into the Illig system world and are based on proprietary drive, software, and control technology.

Flexibility through two variants

The BFU 300 is aimed at companies that work with standardised applications. It is ideal for round parts and classic stacking configurations and is characterised by reduced mechanical complexity. This makes it a robust and economical solution. The BFU 500, on the other hand, is designed for demanding applications where high cycle rates and complex packing patterns are required. It offers servo-driven pitch adjustment and a flexible gripper to enable diverse stacking configurations.

Advantages of integration

A key advantage of the new solutions is their complete integration into the Illig system world. This not only enables a uniform operating logic but also simple connection to further automation solutions such as driverless transport systems or warehouse logistics. According to Illig, customers benefit from clear interfaces and a central point of contact throughout the entire life cycle of the system.

Presentation at the interpack

The new box packers will be presented at interpack 2026. Visitors will have the opportunity to find out about the new developments and learn about the solutions in detail. An RDM system with integrated BFU will be available from July 2026 at the Illig Technology Centre for demonstration purposes. These new systems represent another step by Illig to meet the increasing demands for seamless, scalable process chains.
