Around 3,000 exhibitors have registered for K 2019. This means that the Düsseldorf exhibition centre will be fully booked, as it was for the previous K in 2016. The leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry will be held from 16 to 23 October 2019. More than 200,000 visitors are expected.
The K will once again offer the proven mix of exhibitors. Visitors to Düsseldorf will find complete machines and equipment for the Plastics and rubber industry, but also Semi-finished products, technical parts as well as raw and auxiliary materials.
„It is already clear today that K will once again offer a complete overview of the global market. Thanks to its unrivalled internationality in terms of exhibitors and visitors and its unique range of products, it has a special position in the world and is the venue for pioneering presentations every three years.“

Special show „Plastic shapes the future“
It is particularly important to the organisers that the important issues facing the industry are addressed. In this respect, the special show „Plastic shapes the future“ about the diverse applications of polymers and the sustainable use of plastics to shape the future.

The special show is a project of the German plastics industry under the leadership of PlasticsEurope Germany and Messe Düsseldorf. Seven themed days will alternate between technical discussions, keynote speeches, demonstrations and experiments.
Universities and scientific organisations will be present at the Science Campus present. The aim is to establish contacts between universities and companies.
Discussing key topics for the coming years
The special show, the Science Campus and the exhibitor stands will be used to discuss the key industry topics of the coming years. The Innovation Circle of K 2019 has therefore defined various key themes in the run-up to the trade fair.

At the top of the list are Sustainability issues such as the circular economy, renewable energies and water management. In the area of Digitisation the importance of the Platform economy and networked value chains will be emphasised. However, aspects of system integration, from additive manufacturing processes and new materials to e-mobility, will also be discussed.
The issue of recruiting new talent will certainly also play a major role at the K 2019 play. Companies and scientific institutions alike are looking for strategies to attract the best minds.
