The Hessian company Illert is expanding its machine park with a Babycat 4 from DCM, thereby increasing its capacity in the shrink sleeve sector.

With an investment in the high five-figure range, the Illert expands its in-house machinery, thereby extending the existing range of shrink sleeves. With the Babycat 4, a Heat shrink tubing processing machine for the inspection and treatment of shrink sleeves from the French packaging machine manufacturer DCM the Hessian company is specifically increasing its capacities in the area of shrink sleeves as roll goods.

"We want to meet the increasing demand for sleeve labelling. More and more, we are moving from so-called manual labelling to automatic sleeve labelling. Demand is rising and customers are investing in automatic labelling to increase output. Our investment is intended to increase the quality and output of roll goods." Customers of the Hessian company come from sectors such as food supplements, the beverage industry and cosmetics. In these sectors, shrink sleeves are used, for example, for Tamper-evident cover films used.

The products sold via the German sales partner Dr With GmbH from Frankfurt am Main, checks various characteristics of the rolled goods, including the material width accuracy or the quality of the glued seam. It enables maximum roll sizes with consistently high quality.

Growth in the shrink sleeve sector

"Despite economically challenging times for almost all industries, we are continues to focus on growth in the shrink sleeve sector. We are convinced of the great potential of the technology and see shrink sleeves as a possible future for the packaging industry, also from the perspective of sustainability and the responsible use of resources."
