From May, there will be an innovation for users of the Xeikon Cheetah 2.0. The company has announced the introduction of a new gold and silver metallic toner for digital labelling machines. The toners are particularly suitable for labelling wine or cosmetics.
The production of labels for wine, health and cosmetics usually requires special finishing steps. This is traditionally achieved either by printing on a metallic substrate, the use of metallic inks or a cold or hot foil process. By adding metallic colours digitally eliminates costs, avoids secondary processes and opens up new options for the design of labels, such as personalisation.
Xeikon extends the „Creative Toner“ series with Metallic Gold and Metallic Silver to include a Digital alternative to gold or silver in flexographic printing measured on the flop index 6-8, an index that measures the reflectivity of a metallic colour. The dry toner technology enables a colour change by simply replacing the toner metering unit and the developer unit. As the toner is dry, no extensive cleaning process is required and a quick brush with a hoover is all it takes to be ready for use again between jobs.
„The development of application-specific toners enables printers to develop their own digital solution that allows them to differentiate themselves from other print providers and remain competitive. With the Xeikon Metallic Gold and Silver toners, we are continuing our commitment to innovation in cutting-edge technology and opening up new possibilities for the label printing industry.“
