Greiwing has completed its latest construction project in Wesel and opened a new warehouse. The existing logistics complex with silo tower and four integrated filling silos was expanded by a further 4,000 storage spaces in order to better meet the increased demand for depot solutions in the plastics processing industry.
The new property provides the logistics service provider with a maximum storage capacity of 14,150 pallet spaces. Modern racking technology enables the Combination of different systems and optimum utilisation of existing resources. IT-supported tracking ensures traceability and the best possible utilisation of warehouse capacity.
Those responsible for the extension paid particular attention to energy management. The new building, constructed in accordance with KfW guidelines, is a so-called Efficiency House 40 EE. This consumes less than half the primary energy compared to a building that fulfils the legal minimum standard. The new building also has a photovoltaic system for the power supply and an air-to-water heat pump for efficient heat distribution.
„We are a quality-orientated logistics service provider with a long tradition. This means that we not only bear responsibility for our employees and our customers“ products, but also for our environment. Our sustainability strategy therefore also includes taking sustainable energy concepts into account when planning new buildings."
