Amcor has published its sustainability report for the 2025 financial year, documenting significant progress in the circular economy and climate protection. The Zurich-based packaging company reports that it has met its global target of using 10 % of post-consumer recyclate (PCR) in plastic packaging, which corresponds to 218,000 tonnes. Amcor has also reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 20 % over the past four years.

According to CEO Peter Konieczny, the year 2025 marks a turning point: the combination with Berry Global expands innovative strength and scaling opportunities. As part of the merger, numerous recyclable solutions such as amfibre paper packaging, amprima and amlite formats and the amsky blister pack for pharmaceutical applications were expanded. In total, 72 % of Amcor packaging was recyclable by the end of 2025 - 96 % of rigid, 49 % of flexible and 100 % of speciality board packaging.

Three quarters of operational waste recycled

According to Chief Sustainability Officer David Clark, Amcor is driving decarbonisation with a clear roadmap. The share of renewable electricity was doubled to 30 % in 2025, 75 % of operational waste was recycled, and site-specific projects reduced water consumption. Amcor is therefore on track to achieve its science-based climate targets and further increase the recyclability of its packaging.
