Perfecta Schneidemaschinenwerk GmbH Bautzen has initiated insolvency proceedings under self-administration. The aim is to continue business operations in a stable manner, explore an investor solution and strategically develop the business model further.

The management of Perfecta Schneidemaschinenwerk GmbH Bautzen filed for the opening of insolvency proceedings under self-administration at the Dresden Local Court at the end of December 2025. The court has now granted the application. The business operations of the traditional mechanical engineering company with 86 employees will continue without restriction, according to the statement.

Strategic further development of the business model planned

According to the management, the self-administration proceedings will be used to examine an investor solution in parallel with the operational stabilisation. In this context, a strategic further development of the business model is also planned. Managing Director Christian Baumann explained that the aim is to advance the reorganisation of the company and create long-term prospects.

The management is supported by the Restructuring expert Dirk Eichelbaum from dhmp Restrukturierung, who acts as the company's chief representative. Eichelbaum pointed out that a planned succession solution among the shareholders had taken longer than expected. As a result, it has not yet been possible to finalise negotiations on the strategic realignment and an investor solution. However, the project situation is positive and the economic prospects are generally favourable.

Court appoints provisional custodian

The Dresden Local Court appointed lawyer Rüdiger Bauch from Schultze & Braun as provisional administrator. He will oversee and monitor the debtor-in-possession proceedings. Bauch explained that the intended reorganisation can build on measures already implemented and the existing company structure, which represents a solid starting point for the rest of the process.

Employees' wages and salaries for December 2025 and January and February 2026 are covered by the insolvency substitute benefits. Other companies in the Baumann Group are not affected by the proceedings.
