To meet the growing demand for lightweight and resource-efficient corrugated packaging, Holmen is expanding its Holmen Elevate range with a new fresh fibre corrugated board – Holmen Elevate Flute. This addition allows for a uniform approach to the entire corrugated structure, reducing material consumption and emissions without compromising performance.
Holmen Elevate is a range of ultra-lightweight containerboard grades designed for consistent performance in corrugated packaging. By including kraftliner grades, the range now encompasses both liners and fluting papers. This allows for a unified approach to weight reduction, with grades starting from 72 g/m².
Focus on sustainability
The range is used in applications such as e-commerce, ready-to-shelf retail packaging, and fruit and vegetable baskets, where reducing weight, cost, and material consumption is becoming increasingly important. It is approved for direct contact with dry, moist, and greasy foodstuffs and is suitable for food and beverage packaging without compromising quality.
Holmen Elevate is produced at the Braviken paper mill in Sweden and has one of the lowest CO₂ footprints in the industry. Production is based on an integrated, resource-efficient supply chain where pulp wood and wood chips are sourced from Holmen's neighbouring sawmill, and residues are used for bioenergy or soil improvement.
