Bacardi is reducing plastic in its gift packaging during this year's Christmas season. By 2023, all gift packaging in the family-run company's range is to be 100 per cent plastic-free.

The spirits group Bacardi has announced that its range of gift packaging will be 50 per cent less plastic this Christmas season than in the previous year. In this way, the company aims to avoid a total of 147 tonnes of single-use plastic, which is normally used for gift packaging every year.

Innovative new designs that make the use of plastic superfluous should contribute to this. Plastic inserts and trays are also through cardboard alternatives certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
