Changes at Messe Düsseldorf

Messe Düsseldorf has reorganised its management. Marius Berlemann and Wolfram N. Diener will be responsible for different trade fairs.

Messe Düsseldorf has appointed Marius Berlemann as its new operational Managing Director as of 1 August. This goes hand in hand with a reorganisation of trade fair responsibilities within the management. In future, the leisure trade fairs will be bundled under Berlemann's leadership, while drupa will move to Wolfram N. Diener.

On 1 August, Marius Berlemann took up his position as the new operational managing director of the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Centre has been appointed. This personnel change is part of a major organisational realignment within the management. Marius Berlemann will be responsible for Messe Düsseldorf's leisure trade fairs, including boot, the world's largest water sports trade fair. Wolfram N. Diener, Chairman of the Management Board, previously held this role. Berlemann will also take over the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, the leading international trade fair for mobile travelling.

In return, the drupa, which is recognised as the leading trade fair for print technologies, will be managed by Wolfram N. Diener. Diener is already responsible for numerous industrial trade fairs, including the leading global trade fairs for the wire, cable and tube industries wire and Tube as well as the trade fair for industrial fittings Valve World Expo. He is also in charge of the world's largest packaging trade fair interpack, The world's leading trade fairs for the metallurgy and foundry industry, Gifa, Metec, Thermprocess and Newcast, as well as various international trade fair portfolios. A new addition to Diener's area of responsibility is Xponential Europe, a trade fair for the foundry industry. Unmanned systems and robotics, which will take place in Düsseldorf in February 2025.

Marius Berlemann will also be responsible for the world's leading trade fair for plastics, K, as well as the leading trade fairs for medical technology and healthcare, Medica and Compamed. He will also be responsible for Rehacare, ProWein, EuroShop, EuroCIS, glasstec, A+A, Beauty Düsseldorf and Top Hair, as well as numerous trade fairs abroad.

„My focus is on continuously expanding the position of Düsseldorf's leading international trade fairs. This also includes strengthening international business in order to attract more international trade fair visitors to Düsseldorf.“

Bernhard J. Stempfle, Managing Director Finance and Infrastructure, will continue to be responsible for finance as well as the „Digital Strategy & Communication“ and „Technology“ divisions. Stempfle emphasised the importance of investing in the exhibition centre:

„We want to offer our sectors the best basis for their business success and are not only constantly developing our digital services, but are also expanding investments in our state-of-the-art exhibition centre in Düsseldorf. This should ensure the best return on investment for our customers.“
