The packaging group Amcor has appointed Stephen R. Scherger as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He succeeds Michael Casamento, who is returning to Australia and will remain with the company as a consultant until mid-2026.

Scherger will assume his new role on 10 November 2025, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in finance, strategy and operational management in the packaging industry. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer at Graphic Packaging, where he was instrumental in transforming the company into the world's largest supplier of fibre-based packaging.

Amcor CEO Peter Konieczny said Scherger was a „natural fit“ for Amcor due to his extensive industry knowledge and proven track record of driving growth and profitability. Scherger said he looks forward to helping shape the integration following the acquisition of Berry Global and driving long-term organic growth.

Casamento is leaving the company after ten years as CFO to live with his family in Australia. He will support Amcor in an advisory capacity until June 2026. The company also confirmed its forecast for the 2026 financial year with expected adjusted earnings per share of 80 to 83 cents and free cash flow of USD 1.8 to 1.9 billion.
