Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint will present an expanded portfolio for the metal packaging industry at Metpack 2026 in Essen (5-8 May). The focus will be on the new MetalCoat 484 coating line, as well as solutions along the entire process chain, from printing, coating, and drying to exhaust air purification.

Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint is using the Metpack 2026 trade fair to demonstrate its system expertise in metal decoration. According to the company, it will be presenting a comprehensive portfolio that covers all process steps in industrial metal packaging production and is focused on efficiency, automation, and sustainability.

New coating plant in focus

The centrepiece of the exhibition stand is the MetalCoat 484, which will be unveiled for the first time. According to the company, the system features automated cleaning processes and closed-loop control of the coating layer thickness. These functions are intended to reduce setup times and increase overall equipment effectiveness.

By integrating into existing production lines, users can further automate their processes and increase economic efficiency, according to the company.

Holistic approach along the process chain

In addition to the new coating line, Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint is showcasing solutions for offset and digital printing, including the MetalStar 4 and the Metjet series for smaller print runs. The portfolio is complemented by various drying technologies, including gas-powered systems with integrated exhaust air purification, as well as UV and UV LED solutions.

A particular focus is also placed on energy-efficient concepts. These include systems that, according to the company, can significantly reduce gas consumption, as well as hydrogen-ready furnace technologies, which are intended to enable climate-neutral production in the long term.

In addition to technological innovations, the trade fair stand will also focus on topics such as energy efficiency, material savings and individual production solutions.

Anniversary underscores industry tradition

Alongside the product presentation, Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint is highlighting a historic anniversary. The company's roots trace back, among others, to J.G. Mailänder, whose founding will mark its 150th anniversary in 2026. The company sees this as proof of its long-standing development expertise in the field of sheet metal printing.
