Nursing home significantly reduces its waste volume with residual waste compactors

A care home in Lower Saxony has saved two 1,100-litre residual waste containers since it started using residual waste compactors from Strautmann Umwelttechnik. Previously, six such containers were used there, which were constantly overfilled because the waste could not be compacted.

In companies, it is particularly important that waste bins and wheelie bins are not constantly overflowing. Strautmann Umwelttechnik offers an economical and ergonomic solution to this challenge with its residual waste compactors.

A company in Lower Saxony also had its own experiences with the ever-growing mountain of waste. Specialist care home. „Over time, the amount of waste increased significantly,“ recalls the home manager. Because the waste could not be adequately compacted, the Disposal container quickly overcrowded. An untenable situation! „We were tired of having to invest a lot of money and, above all, time in waste disposal,“ emphasises the facility manager.

Ergonomic two-hand operation

The Strautmann developers have developed the Residual waste compactors optimised for convenient and simple operation. Roll container compactors are also available for smaller containers with a capacity of 660 and 770 litres. The MT 240 model is also available for compacting waste in 240-litre bins.

The operating procedure is the same for all models. The waste container is easily placed in the steel structure of the compactor and filled. The material in the container is then pressed out by means of ergonomic Two-hand operation compacted. This reduces the filling volume by up to 75 per cent. Time-consuming and labour-intensive re-pressing is no longer necessary. During the compaction process no pressure is exerted on the wheels. This ensures a long service life for the disposal containers.

Residual waste compactor amortises quickly

According to Strautmann Umwelttechnik, the benefits of the residual waste compactors are easy to understand. The optimum utilisation of the container volume means that the Disposal costs can be significantly reduced. Collection intervals can be extended, transport routes saved and working time better utilised.

The manager of the specialist care home confirms the economic benefits of the residual waste compactor, which was purchased at the beginning of the year: „The use of the RC 1100 amortises itself for us within eight months. We save disposal costs and a lot of labour. Previously, our employees had to fold and insert cardboard to utilise the volume of the bin. Today, that's no longer an issue.“ In concrete terms, this means that the care home in Lower Saxony can now rely on two 1,100 litre roll container can do without.
