The Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers' Association, UCIMA, has elected Matteo Gentili as Chairman. He succeeds Enrico Aureli, CEO of Robopac and OCME, who held the chairmanship for the four-year period 2016 - 2020.
„Following an intensive election campaign, an agreement was reached on an alternating chairmanship of the UCIMA was made. I will act as Chairman for the first two years of the four-year term of office and then hand over to my colleague Riccardo Cavanna. For the time being, he will be responsible for the development of the association as deputy chairman. Gentili appointed Roberto Paltrinieri from Tetra Pak as a further Deputy Chairman with responsibility for technological aspects. Luciano Sottile von Goglio, member of the UCIMA Board of Directors and former Vice Chairman, will take over the supervision of advertising activities.
Another announcement during the meeting concerns the Change in the board of directors of the association. Mario Maggiani, 53, General Director of AMAPLAST, is to take over the position of General Director of UCIMA from Paolo Gambuli.
Matteo Gentili, 58, is Chairman of TMC (Tissue Machinery Company), a company based in Castel Guelfo (Bologna) that manufactures and markets automatic machines for the packaging and management of tissue and personal care products. In 2018, the company joined the IMA Group.
