Nine months before the start of the next „FachPack“ from 25 to 27 September 2018 in Nuremberg, there is some news. Cornelia Fehlner is the new event director. The trade fair's brand identity has been updated. The topic of „Industry 4.0“ will play a major role at the packaging trade fair.

As early as October 2017 Cornelia Fehlner the Event management the FachPack from Heike Slotta took over the position. Industry 4.0: intelligent packaging and drug serialisation

The topic of „Industry 4.0“ will determine the trade fair appearances of around 1,500 exhibitors. According to an international survey, 88 per cent of companies expect greater profits through the use of Industry 4.0 technologies, while 50 per cent cite greater flexibility as an advantage. These expectations are supported by a study conducted by the consulting agency McKinsey. Maintenance costs and machine downtimes could be reduced by half through Industry 4.0, while productivity could increase by up to 55 per cent. No wonder that 48 per cent of companies are planning to use RFID technology.

At FachPack 2018, visitors will be able to experience innovations from the „Industry 4.0“ sector, primarily in the form of intelligent packaging for intralogistics and shipping. Amongst other things, packaging is RFID-chips into the IT environment of production. However, possibilities for production customisation through to the automated production of individual items and the use of smart glasses in production will also be on show. The trade fair will also showcase solutions for the serialisation of packaging for prescription and over-the-counter medicines. In February 2019, the „Delegated Regulation on the Anti-Counterfeiting Directive“ of the European Union came into force. The guarantee of traceability and product safety required by this is a particular challenge for the packaging industry.

New brand image and revised hall layout

FachPack has given itself a new look in its regular break year, during which Interpack was organised in Düsseldorf. The new slogan „Tomorrow is made by making“ emphasises the innovative strength of the packaging industry. The thematic organisation of the halls has also been revised. In the Hall plan the „Packaging“ and „Technology“ areas are now more clearly organised. In the twelve occupied exhibition halls themselves, thematic focal points are formed.

The FachPack website is also more clearly organised. This is clear from the new „News“ menu item. Here, interested parties will find industry news, FachPack press information, an overview of the trade fair news in the social media and many trade fair photos.
