The Austrian packaging manufacturer packit! supplies the food industry with packaging solutions made from offset-laminated corrugated cardboard. Specialising in the processing of E and F flute as well as laminated double flute, the company has one of the most modern production facilities in Europe. It recently invested in a complete Mastercut 1.65 PER die-cutting line from Bobst.
The Mastercut 1.65 PER is particularly suitable for die-cutting large-format cardboard sheets and very thick corrugated cardboard sheets and, thanks to the top feed, is gentle enough to process laminated surfaces with sensitive coatings. According to the manufacturer, it is also the only solution on the market that allows depanelling in format VII. With its die-cutter, packit! can now die-cut its entire portfolio of corrugated cardboard packaging products, which makes production planning much easier.
In addition to the versatility, the quality of the manufactured products and the short set-up times of the highly automated Mastercut 1.65 PER the availability of suitable peripheral devices an important criterion, which is why packit! opted for this die-cutter. The company had it equipped with a flat track and a palletiser in order to be able to palletise die-cut and blanks in different patterns, „which is not possible with a conventional die-cutting machine for cardboard sheets,“ says CEO and co-founder Walter Freimüller. This enables the company to palletise the stacks of blanks fully automatically - regardless of the materials from which the packaging products are made.

The company's management team has been investing in Bobst technology for years.
„These machines are really flexible and we can use them to meet changing requirements in our production. Our engineers are constantly developing new types of carton packaging, while their expertise combined with the flexibility of Bobst's machines means we can offer unique selling points in the market.“

Timo Bergmair-Russmann, Head of Maintenance, also appreciates the services offered by Bobst - including digitalisation: „Thanks to remote technical support from Bobst, we can solve 80 per cent of our problems together. This has enabled us to significantly reduce our downtimes, even for more serious challenges.“
